At HSS Sweden, we believe that the term “Hinduism” does not fully capture the meaning of Hindu Dharma. However, it is commonly used to refer to the spiritual and cultural traditions that originated in the Indian subcontinent.

Hindu Dharma, rooted in universal and timeless principles, has guided its followers toward noble behavior, fostered social harmony, and addressed challenges throughout history. Hindutva (Hinduness) refers to the essence of being a Hindu, which involves promoting Dharma and fostering peace.

Is HSS Sweden affiliated with organizations globally?

HSS Sweden is an autonomous and independent organization, with no legal or financial ties to any other organization. However, we collaborate with various grassroots Hindu organizations worldwide that focus on the social and spiritual advancement of Hindus and broader humanitarian efforts.

HSS Sweden draws inspiration from many Hindu movements in India, including the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which has contributed to the revitalization of society and the promotion of Hindu civilization. While we may not agree with all of the views of these organizations and leaders, we share a commitment to preserving and advancing Hindu culture, values, and ideals.

As part of Swedish civil society, HSS Sweden actively seeks to build relationships with all segments of society. We collaborate with community and humanitarian organizations to address the needs of the wider Swedish society and participate in joint initiatives with other organizations on projects of common interest.
